This will involve a preliminary assessment of what the client needs and the scope of engagement contribution. Typically, this discussion unfolds over one or two initial meetings and results in the provisional engagement.

Embark on an evaluation the client’s current process, systems, reports and stakeholders in order to understand the client’s data where it comes from and if cleanse is needed. A trend analysis is always instrumental.

Present a detailed roadmap based on diagnostics phase findings and agree a working plan. The proposed solution could stem from the medication of something that we have deployed elsewhere, or a tweaking some of the client’s materials or complete build from scratch.

Done on time, on budget and professionally. This could be an assignment that warrants the processes and tools built from scratch, or enhancing an existing one that may require some upgrade due to whatever reasons, or simply continuing an existing one that has a gap in personnel.

As the assignment comes to an end, I will ensure that objectives have been met and evaluated, and that the client is satisfied. This stage may involve the finalisation of knowledge and skills transfer, sourcing ‘business as usual’ successors, and sharing lessons learnt in the process. There is always scope for the extension or renewal.
